News and Thoughs from Bro. James

Categories: news and events

2010 is going to be an exciting year for Crossroads Baptist. It is a year of missions, both locally and across the globe. Bro. David will be going to Ethiopia in January. On our Spring Break mission trip we are going to Galveston to help with Hurricane Ike recovery efforts. In July, we are partnering with First Baptist Odessa doing mission work at Duck Lake, Saskatchewan Canada. We have our “FOCUS” Revival in February followed by our outreach to our community with the CD/ROM, “Texas Hope 2010,” as we share the gospel with our friends and neighbors.

Choir practice resumes Sunday night, January 10th, at 5 PM. We will begin working on our Easter Music “I Know My Redeemer Lives.” I know several of you have mentioned that you would like to join us, so put the 10th down on your calendar and come be a part of our worship choir. We would love to add some more chairs to the loft.

We have 3 Bible studies planned in 2010. The first begins on Wednesday, January 20th and it fits perfectly with our “on mission” theme for 2010 and will be led by Paula Nichols. “Share Jesus Without Fear” is a 6 weeks coed class open for everyone. Tens of thousands of people have found this method to be a simple way to share the gospel, totally depending on the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. I’m excited about this Bible Study. The deadline to sign up is January 17th and the cost is $8.00 for your workbook. After that course finishes, we have planned a Ladies and Men’s Bible study class that will run through the rest of the Spring Semester. We are excited about what the Lord is going to do in 2010. Please partner in prayer with us as He leads us.
