Giving

Categories: Pastors Blog

On Sunday, November 20, 2011 we presented to the church our 2012 Budget proposal.  Together we all verbally expressed our desire to support the work of God’s Kingdom through our prayerful financial support of this next year’s ministry plan.  I asked you each to pray about your giving level and challenged us all to step forward to a new level in the joy of giving.  Here are those prayer challenges:

If you don’t give, pray about starting. Don’t worry about the amount, start somewhere, start with something, and begin to participate in the joy of providing for God’s work around the world.

If you give when you are here and don’t when you are not, pray about starting to give as often God gives to you.

If you give regularly, pray about giving 3% more. ($3 for every $100 you give.)

God is so kind, loving, and generous that He would invite each one of us to be a part of His work. He does not extend this invitation and not provide for you and your family the means to care for one another and continue to give to His cause locally and globally.  His Word is always reminding us to do these things well.

Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.                        2 Corinthians 9:6-8(NIV)

How much seed has He given you to sow into the job of letting everyone know about this great God of love and grace?  Don’t hold tightly in your hands, release it for His glory, that His love might be spread around the world.
