Pastor’s September Blog

Categories: Pastors Blog

Welcome to September, the anticipation of a new school year, and the prospect of cooler, fall weather.  This is going to be one of the most exciting months for Crossroads.  I believe that God is planning to awaken our hearts to himself and the glory of the gospel in dramatic, life changing ways.  The gospel is not just the message of our salvation past.  It is our guide every day of our lives.  On Sunday, September 9, Terry Caffey of Wills Point, TX will be here (8 and 10:30 worship services) to share his testimony of how the gospel not only saved him but led him to walk through the most tragic of circumstances with sufficient grace and eventually forgiveness.  I do not want you to miss this opportunity to experience an authentic display of the supernatural work of God’s grace.

The following week, September 14-18, we will be presenting the message of the gospel and its saving power through a dramatic presentation called Heaven’s Gates and Hell’s Flames. Preparation days will be Friday and     Saturday, the 14th and 15th.  The presentation will be Sunday evening the 16th through Tuesday the 18th at 7 pm each day.  Jesus said, in our verse this month, John 9:4, that we must work while there is light.  He is the Light of the world.  We must bear this Light boldly.  For this gospel, this Jesus, is the power of God unto salvation.  Apart from Him there is no other way to be saved.

What is your role in this?  Maybe you signed up to perform or pray or counsel or work with children.  I say “Thank you, Thank you, Thank you” to all those who have committed to serving.  But we all must participate in inviting friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, etc. to come and see.  You never know who God has chosen to speak to through Heaven’s Gates.  So we must invite them all.  Luke 14:23 God says, “Go out to the roads and country lanes and make them come in, so that my house may be full.”  Who will you bring in?

Don’t miss these two special worship opportunities. They will be blessings to you as you attend.  They will be     blessings to you as you invite others to come and hear and see the life-changing message “that Christ Jesus has come into the world to save sinners.” (1 Timothy 1:15)

Also, in the few months ahead, there is a season of generosity for Crossroads.

September – we pray and give for those missionaries who serve within the state of Texas.

October – we prepare Operation Christmas Child boxes to be distributed to underprivileged children around the world.

November – we will distribute boxes filled with groceries to needy families within our community.

December – we will pray and give for missionaries who serve outside of North America

That God invites us to be His hands to hold the hurting, to be generous to bring the hope of the gospel is quite   wonderful to me, I pray it is for you.

All for Him,
