“FACING FEAR, TRUSTING GOD!”
This was our motto for our week of VBS, June 10-14. It was an incredible week of worship. Our VBS leadership was excellent. Our volunteers were incredible. Our children are precious. I am so grateful to the leadership that makes our VBS happen. Each night there were approximately 90 adults and teenagers here leading groups, doing crafts, playing games, serving refreshments, singing songs, and most importantly loving children. Thank you to all who took time to enable the children to come to Jesus (Matthew 19:14). Those volunteers are led by our VBS director, Stacia Runnels. This ministry requires as much preparation and follow-up as anything we do here at Crossroads. Thank you Stacia for all that you do. I also want to say thank you to Jamie Vance for organizing for us several prayer opportunities before and during the week of VBS.
Every year we are blessed to introduce the gospel to our children and see many of them accept God’s offer of salvation through faith in Christ. Through the week we averaged over 100 children, 1:5 of those kids, 21 total, indicated a desire to respond to the gospel message through a first time decision or through baptism. Each one of these kids represents a family for Crossroads to welcome into our fellowship. We need your help to do this. We have already begun to follow-up on these children and the others, who indicated no affiliation with a place of worship, with letters and personal contacts. We also desire to make a home visit to these families in order to extend the love of Christ and the hospitality of the Crossroads’ family to each home. We need an army of people to help with this. It is our goal to make a personal contact with each of those families before the summer ends. If you would be interested in helping us reach out to these families please let us know. Contact the church office (903) 938-0882 or you can e-mail James Runnels at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will make sure you are included in the assignment of contacting these new families.
CROSSROADS ORIENTATION LUNCHEON: On Sunday, July 14, we are very excited to welcome our new members from the past several months and anyone interested in becoming a member of Crossroads to a luncheon in your honor. We will be sharing with you our Crossroads membership covenant as well as sharing with you about this great family of God called Crossroads. Please respond to the invitation that you will be receiving so that we can properly prepare for a great meal along with a presentation of the ministries of Crossroads.
All for Him,
